Varmia Musica on tour

Varmia Musica on tour is an educational project within the Varmia Musica Academia Course. It will culminate in two semi-staged performances of John Blow’s opera Venus and Adonis — on 11 August at the F. Nowowiejski Philharmonic in Olsztyn and on 12 August at the House of Creative Work in Radziejowice.

The project is intended for selected participants of the Course, both singers and instrumentalists. The number of places is limited.
We are looking for soloists (Venus, Adonis, Cupid, Shepherd, Shepherdess, Huntsman), vocal ensemble singers (S, A, T, B), and instrumentalists playing traverso flute, oboe, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, viola da gamba, lute, and harpsichord.
To apply, please complete the application form for the Varmia Musica Academia Course by 20 June and include a link to a video recording:
– singers — excerpts from a selected role in Venus and Adonis, approx. 2 minutes total (materials available on the website)
– harpsichordists — specified sections of the basso continuo part (materials available on the website)
– other instrumentalists — two contrasting movements of a solo work or a work with basso continuo, 5–8 minutes in total
Further details regarding the required recording are available in the Regulations .
Admission decisions will be made by the Course faculty and organisers based on the submitted recordings. Results will be announced no later than 5 July 2026.

We are pleased to announce that, thanks to the generosity of Ms Rozanna and Mr Piotr Budziark, participants in difficult financial circumstances may apply for a scholarship.
The founders, wishing to support talented individuals who face financial challenges, offer the possibility of receiving individual financial assistance.
To apply for the scholarship, simply contact the organisers of the Varmia Musica Academia and briefly describe your financial situation. Each application is considered individually, with full discretion and sensitivity.
The Rozanna and Piotr Budziark Scholarship provides a real opportunity to participate in the workshops for those who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
